The Government’s ECO Scheme was introduced to help low income households to reduce their heating bills whilst also cutting carbon emissions from homes. This is achieved by offering grants to help replace old and inefficient lpg boilers with new A-rated lpg boilers which use far less heating lpg gas.

The ECO Scheme was introduced in 2013

We have been working with the ECO Scheme since it was introduced in 2013 but the emphasis was mainly on replacing central heating boilers which used mains gas. In 2017 the government acknowledged that householders with oil boilers, LPG boilers and electric storage heaters were being unfairly treated by the system.

Changes were made to the way in which ECO grants were calculated and now in 2018, the replacement of faulty oil boilers and LPG boilers is favoured over the replacement of mains gas boilers.

This means that for many successful applicants for LPG Boiler Grants, the grant covers the entire cost of replacing their old, inefficient lpg boiler.

The LPG Boiler Grants 2018 scheme is currently due to end in September 2018 so if you feel that you qualify for an lpg boiler grant to replace your old boiler, it is important to apply immediately, before ECO funding is withdrawn.

ECO Grants are also available to replace faulty Electric Storage Heaters at www.storageheatergrant.co.uk
